Project Description

Engena screened the development with Central Bedfordshire Council confirming that the project would not be EIA development.

We then produced an Environmental Report detailing the potential effects of the proposal, coordinating and managing the planning application on behalf of the developer. The scope of work included public consultation and post submission support.

Following a recommendation to approve, the scheme was consented at the local level by Planning Committee, and is now currently under construction.

Notable Achievements

This scheme is located within Green Belt, and therefore comprised inappropriate development. Engena demonstrated very special circumstances associated with renewable energy. The project design was sympathetic to a previously consented quarry restoration ROMP.

Engena subsequently supported the application for a 3MW battery energy storage scheme which was integrated into an Electric Vehicle Charging facility also managed by Engena.
