Engena is a specialist renewable energy planning consultancy with over 20 years of experience securing consent for wind, solar, and battery storage projects across England, Scotland and Wales.
We act as your lead consultant; managing every stage from initial site assessment through to planning approval and financial close. That means one point of contact, one team accountable for your project, and no gaps between disciplines.
Our focus is narrow by design. We don't spread ourselves across residential, commercial, or oil and gas sectors. Everything we do is built around getting renewable energy projects consented. That focus gives us a depth of knowledge in EIA, environmental planning, and the UK planning system that generalist firms can't match.
We work with developers, landowners, and investors. Whether you're assessing a site for the first time, navigating a complex EIA, or fighting a planning refusal at appeal, we bring the same level of attention. Single turbine or utility-scale energy park, the approach doesn't change.
What sets us apart is how we work. We don't just flag problems during the planning process. We identify practical solutions early, so issues are dealt with before they become reasons for refusal. It's a proactive approach that saves time, reduces risk, and keeps projects moving.
Our director is involved in every project. You won't be handed off to junior staff or lost in a chain of account managers. The people making decisions on your project are the same people you speak to.
Every project is led by our director, supported by a team of specialists in EIA, environmental planning, and renewable energy consenting. Here are the people you'll actually be working with.
